Retention and Disposition Schedules
Records retention schedules are a vital component of any records management programme. Records schedules specify required retention periods and final dispositions of records series.
For retention and disposition guidelines for records pertaining to general administration, buildings and properties, and equipment and supplies, please see the U of T File Plan. If no records schedule exists, University offices must obtain the approval of the University Archivist before disposing of records or before transferring records to the University Archives. Please see our website for more information about Disposing of records. When retention and disposition schedules are applied, procedures should be followed for transferring records to the University Archives and for destroying records.
To search the Schedules Database, type appropriate entries in the search box. Use Boolean searching within the field to refine your query. Use an asterisk to broaden a search to include all word endings (student*). Use an ampersand (&) to indicate that both words must be present (training & development).
